Thunder Striker (formerly Intimidator) is a hyper roller coaster located at Carowinds in Fort Mill, South Carolina.
History
The coaster was manufactured by Bolliger & Mabillard (B&M) and constructed at a cost of $23 million. It opened at the park on March 27, 2010 as Intimidator, becoming its 13th roller coaster. The ride's name was based on the nickname of the late NASCAR driver Dale Earnhardt. However, as the license with Earnhardt's estate expired at the end of 2023, the coaster was renamed to "Thunder Striker" for the 2024 season.[1]

Trains
This coaster features 3 trains with 8 cars per train. Riders are arranged 4 across in a single row in each car for a total of 32 riders per train.
