Katapul is a Schwarzkopf sit-down launched shuttle roller coaster located at Hopi Hari in São Paulo, Brazil. It is the first Shuttle Loop model to be built, and uses a weight drop launch system.
History
- The ride was installed at Kings Dominion in 1977 as King Kobra, the first Schwarzkopf shuttle loop. It left the park in 1986. It was painted entirely green.
- The ride appeared at Jolly Roger Amusement Park from 1987-1989.
- The ride was renamed Thunder Looper and was sent to Alton Towers. It was renamed and operated from 24 March 1990 to 3 November 1996. It was removed due to noise complaints and because it could be seen outside the park.
- The ride was relocated to its current park, Hopi Hari under the name Katapul. It was also repainted blue.
